THE CHALLENGE

Managing personal health can be overwhelming. People need a way to keep track of their medical information, manage appointments, and maintain healthy habits without feeling burdened. StayWell addresses these challenges by offering an intuitive platform that centralizes healthcare management.

  • Ensuring user engagement and retention through an engaging interface.
  • Balancing feature-rich functionality with ease of use.
  • Providing personalized content and reminders based on user data.
  • Ensuring the security and privacy of sensitive medical information.

USER RESEARCH

We conducted comprehensive research to understand user needs, including surveys and interviews targeting individuals interested in health management. We also developed user scenarios to guide our design:

  • Ben Tennyson: A 40-year-old pastry chef looking to prioritize his health while managing a demanding career.
  • Kevin Levin: A 45-year-old security guard helping his friend Peter stay on track with his health without disrupting his own routine.

THE GOAL

Our primary objective was to develop a mobile application that empowers users to manage their personal health effectively. StayWell was designed with these goals:

  • Centralize healthcare management by integrating key features.
  • Create an intuitive, engaging interface that encourages regular use.
  • Offer personalized reminders and content based on user data.
  • Facilitate support systems through shareable health data.

DESIGN THINKING PROCESS

The StayWell project followed a user-centered design thinking approach, comprising the following phases:

Empathize

We began by understanding the users’ needs, motivations, and pain points through interviews and surveys. This phase helped us create detailed user personas and empathy maps, which guided the design process.

Define

Based on our research, we identified core problems such as difficulty in managing healthcare tasks and the need for secure document storage. We developed a problem statement that focused our design efforts on solving these issues.

Ideate

We brainstormed various design solutions, including a habit tracker, appointment manager, and document storage system. These ideas were refined through feedback and collaborative discussions, resulting in a comprehensive design plan.

Prototype

Using Figma, we developed high-fidelity prototypes that visualized the final design. We also implemented the front-end in React Native, ensuring the app was responsive and accessible on both iOS and Android devices.

Test

We conducted usability tests with real users to gather feedback on the app’s functionality and design. Insights from these tests led to iterative improvements, ensuring the final product met user expectations.

THE SOLUTION: STAYWELL APP

The StayWell app offers a holistic solution for personal healthcare management, providing users with the tools they need to take control of their health.
